Is the primary purpose of a space like this not to draw tallent that finds it inspirational? In a creative environment one of the biggest challenges is ensuring people are all on the same page. These designs give direct insight into the culture of each of these businesses and help overcome one of the biggest hurdles an employer can face; synergy between all departments. They are also a constant subconsious reminder of what drives any business to succeed; ingenuity. Beautiful work! absolutely inspirational. Let’s not overlook the impression on clients either.

I agree with gescob. I think it is completely up to the personality of the person as to whether people will be inspired by these offices. I am effected greatly by my surroundings while working. I know being surrounded by grass, or rock, or wood would definitely be more inspirational to me than my cubical wall.

I am intersted to learn how you made the assessment that “creativity will not flow” in these environments. All of these designs seem to be based on different idealogy and design philosophy, so making the general classification of “obtrusive” leads to questions on what you would regard as truly conducive to inspiration. Can you truly come to this conclusion based on tiny jpeg representations, and that this conclusion is truly objective. Furthermore… Inspiration being such a personal thing, should it be the ultimate goal of these designs?

Truly inspiring offices there, I especially like the cave one with the elevated office reminds me of a Bond villian’s lair.

As you say we spend so long of our lifes at work, I think employers have a duty to create offices that stimulate and inspire the workforce.

As examples of interesting architecture achievements, I think these examples are nice, but I don’t think they will boost the creativity of their employees. These sophisticated designs are too intrusive and leave little space to their employees to express themselves freely.

The first priority of a design agency or an architecture studio, should be to make sure they offer an environment where creativity can flow.

Creativity after all is their main product.
