Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium: The Largest Aquarium in Asia

The deep waters of the world are a frontier that most of us may never experience.  To see this wondrous habitat with our own eyes is to experience a world truly beautiful and alien to our own.  The Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium provides a glimpse into this habitat that cannot be seen better from anywhere else in Asia– unless you travel into the depths yourself.  Filmmaker Jon Rawlinson visited the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium to film a soothing, dreamy look into this world of water, all 2 million gallons of it. • Wow, that is beautiful. The biggest aquarium I’ve been to is the Georgia Aquarium (which also has whale sharks). It was a breath-taking experience.

  • Hi Marilyn!
The museum you’re referring to is the only one in the world larger than this one– I’ll be making a trip to see it in the late Spring. I bet it is amazing! Thanks for the comment

  • i saw a documentary about how they built this one, TRULY impressive.

  • does anyone know who this amazing song is by?

  • Hi Chelsea: as shown in the video title above, the song is “Please Don’t Go” by Barcelona.
