Waanders In de Broeren Book Store

We know a thing or two about amazing book stores here at TheCoolist, and this new entry in The Netherlands is right at home in our list.  The Waanders In de Broeren Book Store by BK Architecten is a big slice of literary heaven, a church that was restored and re-imagined as a book store and cafe.  Its tall, arching ceilings overlook multiple levels of fiction and non-fiction, organized in a manner that a book lover could happily get lost in.  It’s not the first church/bookstore transformation we’ve seen, in fact it’s not even the first in The Netherlands (see: “the most beautiful book store in the world“). Regardless, it is an excellent work of interior architecture and creative classical renovation.  We admire the inspiration here and hope to be a customer soon. [architect: BK.
