Photographer Christian Derfusi captures stunning images of acrobatic skateboarders performing aerial tricks against a pitch black background. This artistic pursuit provides a minimal perspective on the extreme action sport in which the body of the athlete and skateboard itself are torqued and maneuvered in seemingly impossible and gravity defying ways. The primarily black ensemble of the skateboarder leaves the focus of the images on the silhouette and composition between the athlete and the board, making for interesting and even elegant photographs. Each shot seems to be a part of a sequence almost as interesting as observing the stunt in real life.
