I can remember the first time I ever saw the BMW R69S. It was a finely restored model in Dover White, and I was spellbound. Every man and woman who loves motorcycles has their own dream bike, and the R69S remains mine. I can’t imagine that bike being improved upon, but the guys at ER Motorcycles have truly challenged that imagination. The ER Motorcycles Voltron BMW R69s is a modern take on the BMW classic, a thrilling custom build with its own kind of appeal.
The ER Motorcycles Voltron take on the 1964 BMW R69S is as exclusive as it gets. It’s a one-off build, crafted from the original with custom components and various BMW sources. It takes various parts from different BMW bikes to yield one complete motorcycle. It’s part R69, part R80, part R100– but 100% a vehicle of its own inspiration. What’s most remarkable is that each of these pieces is fit together perfectly, almost like these parts were intended to eventually complete something greater. Hence the name of this custom build: Voltron.
Voltron will be available for one lucky buyer at auction. The auction started this week, is priced in Euro and will end in February 2015. I shutter to think of the eventual price this one-of-a-kind BMW will fetch at auction.
