Singapore based photographer Brendan Fitzpatrick uses x-ray machines at a local radiology lab to create unique skeletal images of flowers. Among the flowers photographed are tulips, hibiscus, orchids and roses. With the help of Photoshop, Fitzpatrick is able to enhance the soft blue, purple and pink tones that create the delicate and soft images. The transparent and seemingly fragile flowers seem surreal and intricate details are revealed that would otherwise go unnoticed by the naked eye. Fitzpatrick gives a new and almost extraterrestrial twist to the typically mundane and overplayed subject of flowers in art. [via thisiscollosal]
