Man Single-Handedly Plants 1400 Acre Forest

Jadav “Molai” Payeng of India took ecological matters into his own hands more than 30 years again when he single-handedly began planting the forest that exists today spanning over 1360 acres. This maturing forest serves as habitat for an increasing number of different species and is an effort to balance the negative affects of deforestation in India. Patience and good will are what drove Payeng in the project as he watered each plant daily. The scale of this ecological project reflect the passion and necessity of his vision to save his homeland and regenerate the natural environment. [via inhabitat]
