Neon Boneyard: the Las Vegas Neon Museum

Not far from the mammoth hotels of the Las Vegas strip is the quiet desert resting place of the city’s neon history.  The Las Vegas Neon Museum and its Neon Boneyard are home to countless neon lights, historic signage and advertisements from a time long passed.  The Boneyard itself is “home to some of the most treasured and world-famous signs of Las Vegas—Caesars Palace, Binions Horsehoe, Golden Nugget, Silver Slipper, and, most recently the Stardust”.  While the growth of Las Vegas has seen the slow passing of neon lights from ubiquity to an endangered species, the Neon Museum is working hard to preserve Las Vegas’ bright, glittery neon history.  On our next trip to Sin City, we’ll be sure to add this to our itinerary.  If you want to do the same, be sure to book in advance.
