An interweaving of Japanese and Peruvian cultures takes a literal form in the design of this restaurant by El Equipo Creativo. The PAKTA Restaurant of Barcelona features a tapestry of Peruvian colors threaded throughout the restaurant’s interior. The walls and ceiling are accented by this woven design element, which yields a festive-yet-refined appeal to PAKTA’s guests. Light and color intersect over natural wood tables and cool concrete columns. In a sense, the visual flair of PAKTA is as enticing as the cuisine the chefs prepare.
PAKTA is the work of El Equipo Creativo, a design firm local to Barcelona. Their progressive design sensibility is anchored by cultural influences that span the globe, and PAKTA is a prime example. From ceviche to sushi, the range of culinary options is as varied as the design they presented. In total, it’s a creative success, one that promises a rare dining experience for Barcelona’s progressive eaters. [photography: adria goula]
