Painter Sven Ruthner’s work reveals a process similar to the film technique of cell animation. While only the artist knows for sure, this onlooker sees Ruthner’s work as an illustrative take on still photography. In his portrait series, Ruthner gives a painted expression to photographs of people only identified by their first names.
