Shinola, the people behind American-made luxury watches, bicycles and more, have teamed up with photographer Bruce Weber for a project after my heart: Shinola Pet. This new collaboration includes dog toys, leashes, beds and collars for the dapper dogs in your life and ours. The series will also include prints and postcards with Bruce Weber’s photographic work with dogs, his favorite subject when not photographing fashion.
The Shinola Pet collection, which is still under wraps until its fall release, will feature luxury American-made leather leashes and collars along with finely-made toys and beds. If you’re familiar with the style of Shinola’s luxury watches, like the Shinola Runwell, you can expect a similar style and appeal from Shinola Pet. Consider a genuine leather watch band being extended to fit Fido’s neck — that’s the kind of leather goods you’re likely to see in this collection. The toys and beds of Shinola Pet appear to include rope toys and durable knit cloth beds designed for comfort and stability.
I’m pumped to see Shinola Pet for myself, not only in my coverage of cool here on TheCoolist, but for the dogs behind the scenes. Magnum the doberman pinscher, Maximus the Yorkshire Terrier and Zeus the Maltese will look decidedly dapper in some new duds from Shinola Pet when they’re released this fall. They’ll be the talk of the town. In the mean time, you can sign up for updates about the Shinola Pet collection at Shinola.com.
