Video games sure have come a long way in the realism department.  Without an historic context, it’s difficult to realize just how far video game graphics have evolved.  Photographer Aled Lewis has produced a set of still composites that show our favorite 8-bit era video game characters in photographic landscapes of the modern day.  The “Video Games vs Real Life” series by Aled Lewis shows the duck-fetching dog from Duck Hunt, the fist-fighting brothers from Double Dragon, the jumping bike from Excitebike and many more.  It’s a trip down memory lane in a photo-realistic context, a fun fusion of video game iconography and visual art.  [via notcot]
