Lamborghini has revealed a new Gallardo bull for the Frankfurt Motor Show coming next month.  The new 2014 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse is based on the Super Trofeo race car but built for street-legal driving.  It’s powered by a 570-horsepower V10 that will race to 60mph in 3.4 seconds, topping off at a screaming 199 mph.  Its design is largely the same as the Gallardos that preceded it, opting for the philosophy that “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

The 2014 Lamborghini Gallardo does have a leg up on the bulls that came before.  Like many other performance cars coming out in recent years, it improves on its predecessors by dropping curb weight by using smarter, lightweight components.  There’s a whole lot of sexy carbon fiber going on in the Squadra Corse, shedding a total of 164 pounds for quicker take-off and landing.  The total weight is just 2,954 pounds, a pretty remarkable thing to consider when you remember that this baby has a massive V10 under the hood.  We can almost feel the response of the pedal just looking at it… [lamborghini]
