Leica has released a lusty new compact digital camera, the Leica V-Lux 30. Leica’s new V-Lux offering sports a 14.1MP sensor, 16x optical zoom, a 3-inch LCD, 1080i video recording and GPS geotag capability. In contrast to most higher-end Leicas, the Leica V-Lux 30 is a lot more accessible, priced at $749. That bright red logo with the classical script commands most of that price, as the V-Lux 30 carries the same components of a mid-level Panasonic. Yet for the style-focused photographer, that logo and the leather case are worth the difference. Expect Leica to roll out some more loveliness in the near future, as the company is a hair away from their 100th anniversary in the business of making lust-worthy compact cameras.
